Why I Built BARKOD STUDIO

BARKOD STUDIO started from a simple design frustration: barcodes are necessary, but they should not have to ruin a clean visual system.

The Reason

I always hated how ugly barcodes could ruin an otherwise clean design, so I built BARKOD STUDIO to make them look cute, cool, and intentional while staying scannable. Instead of treating the barcode as an awkward box that gets dropped onto a layout at the end, I wanted it to feel like part of the design language from the beginning.

What It Makes

BARKOD STUDIO is a browser-based tool for creating artistic EAN-13, EAN-8, and Code 128 barcode visuals. It is built for packaging concepts, retail experiments, campaign assets, and brand systems that need barcode graphics to feel intentional.

How It Works

The generator keeps a protected scan zone and exports editable SVG files, so the result can move into Figma, Illustrator, print mockups, and production review.

What Comes Next

The tool is free, and I am looking to add more styles to the shape library over time. If you have ideas for new barcode shapes, visual directions, or ways the generator could fit better into real design workflows, I would love to hear your suggestions and feedback.
